The Arson
Investigation Trailer allows fire investigators to have
the appropriate gear, work spaces and equipment for a
complete fire scene investigation in a self contained unit.
Advances in scientific technology have helped law
enforcement go high tech in solving fire-related crimes.
Equipped with a state-of-the-art Mobile Arson Lab,
investigators are now capable of responding to and
conducting on-scene evidence collection. The Arson
Investigation Trailer can be built to suit your specific
needs and is equipped with storage facilities for a variety
of hand tools as well as battery operated tools, evidence
collection equipment and a built in work station(s) with
computer capabilities. In addition, a self contained and
vented compartment for venting of fire scene contaminated
clothing can be included.
It can be used as a Mobile Command for any incident where a
smaller command vehicle is required. A variety of options
are available.
Some of the standard equipment is:
- Ample storage and work space

MOBILE CONCEPTS BY SCOTTY ASSISTS
FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN EDUCATION/PREVENTION FUNDING
Mobile
Concepts by Scotty, the original manufacturer of the premier
SCOTTY Fire Safety House, is providing free grant narrative
reviews to fire departments applying for education equipment
funding from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The
Fire Prevention and Safety grant period is open until 5 p.m.
est., Friday, March 6, 2009. The guidelines for
this grant program are available at
www.firegrantsupport.com.
Due to the February 2nd announcement of this grant
opening, fire departments may be scrambling to find grant
writers and reviewers. Anne Degre, president of Mobile
Concepts, believes in three keys to getting a grant
narrative approved: early submission, a unique or standout
application and having your narrative reviewed by
professionals before submission.
"Fire department officials should keep in mind that
incomplete applications will not be considered," states
Degre. "That is why it is so important for departments to
take advantage of our free narrative review program."
The company manufactures SCOTTY Fire Safety Houses,
Sprinkler Demonstration Trailers, and the PREP House (Plan,
Respond, Educate, Prepare). They also can custom design
tow-able mobile classroom trailers from your ideas.
Their trailers are used to promote, demonstrate and
educate the public on fire safety, home escape plans, injury
prevention, fire extinguisher use, basic life saving skills
including CPR, and sprinkler system effectiveness.
"We are excited about the prospects of DHS funding our
arson investigation trailers this year," states Chris Simon,
Vice President of Marketing for Mobile Concepts. "These
trailers are available from 16 to 39 feet in length.
Our website shows
a popular 39-foot design, but we can change sizes and
options to meet your needs. "We can
combine certain features from several models. For example,
arson investigation work space can be combined with the
sprinkler activation system allowing the trailer to
be multifunctional. It's really up to the customer."
"Not only are we excited, but we are very thankful to DHS
for offering funding for all of our trailers. Because of the
money they provide, our nation is seeing a decrease in the
amount of fire related damage and death," expands Degre.
At this point, DHS will not approve any grant
applications for motorized mobile classrooms. These vehicles
are described as motor home style (rolling stock) and
includes an engine. Fire department officers may not be
aware of this, so it is important to carefully and
completely read the guidelines before beginning.
"If you were listening in school, the teacher told you
what was going to be on the test most of the time," Degre
states. "The same is true for these grants."
Mobile Concepts has sample grant narratives available by
calling 1-800-783-0213, or visit the website at
www.MobileConcepts.com for links to grant writing
sources.
Grant narratives for review can be emailed to
adegre@MobileConcepts.com, and our grant
professional will make recommendations on what needs to be
done to increase the grant narrative's chances of being
approved.

Mobile Concepts by Scotty Earns An
"A" In Customer Satisfaction
Mobile Concepts was awarded a 94 out of 100 satisfaction
rating by its past customers and is certified as a Top 20
percent performer.
In a survey conducted by Open Ratings, past customers
were asked a variety of questions to calculate the overall
performance of Mobile Concepts by Scotty. Detailed
performance ratings were taken in the following categories:
reliability, cost, order accuracy, delivery/ timeliness,
quality, business relations, personnel, customer support and
responsiveness.
The company took these steps in order to become a GSA
approved contract holder. All of their products can be
purchased through the
GSA Advantage program.
Mobile Concepts received zero negative feedback with only
six points out of 100 going into the neutral field from
clients including government agencies, military
organizations, fire and police departments, utility
companies and private enterprise, among others. This
is unusual for a manufacturer who specializes in custom
projects.
"If you are a family owned business for more than 50
years, you assume you are doing something right, but it is
nice to hear it from your customers," said Degre. My
grandfather John Serro and father Joe Pirschl taught me that
if you don't service your customers, someone else will."
The company manufactures all trailers at their
Pennsylvania-based facility and stands by their workmanship.
"We have three [SCOTTY] sprinkler/fire safety house combo
units in service, crisscrossing New York state almost daily
- from rural areas in the Adirondacks to the urban bustle of
midtown Manhattan, and we have been very satisfied with how
they are holding up to such rigorous use," stated Paul D.
Martin, Chief, Bureau of Fire Prevention in Albany, New
York.
"The Scotty brand has been a trusted name for over five
decades," stated Degre, "and we still use the Scotty dog
emblem. It stands for family, value and integrity. We will
continue the tradition of excellence in every product we
make whether it is educational trailers or ocean containers
and everything in between."

Mobile Concepts by Scotty Expands
To International Market
Mobile Concepts by Scotty, with more than 50 years of
experience in custom fabricating trailers, recently added an
export division to their list of expertise.
2008 marked a year of international marketplace expansion
which has led the company into acquiring several major
contracts such as mobile classrooms for Latin America.
Mobile Concepts' trailers are now found in Canada, Mexico,
Italy, Guam, Japan, Germany, Spain and Iraq. As a part of
this expansion, the company now has designs and plans for
ocean/ISO container repurposing.
Company president Anne Degre realized a need in the
international market for custom ocean containers when she
was contacted by Japan-based Mitsubishi Electric. The
company had to provide an on-site water purification system
to a gold mining company. Typically, a building would be
erected on the mining site to house the water purification
system. Ultimately, it would be abandoned after the mining
was complete - a waste of resources and money.
Mobile Concepts and Mitsubishi Electric worked together
on an idea for a custom ocean container that was repurposed
and equipped with the water purification system that can be
transported by truck, ship or rail to multiple destinations.
Degre explains, "We can work with anyone in custom
designing something like this, or customers can choose from
any of our existing product lines, and we can ship
them anywhere."
Mobile Concepts, who began in the camping trailer
business in 1956 as Serro Travel Trailer Company, has
obviously grown beyond that of their original scope.
They build mobile commands, mobile labs/classrooms, bunk
houses, restroom/shower units, training trailers and any
custom trailer a customer needs.
During the time between 1956 and the late 1980s, the
company perfected the SCOTTY recreational vehicle and was
famous for them. With three factories producing their
products, the Scotty brand soon became a household name.
They were the first camping trailer manufacturer east of the
Mississippi River for many years with factories in
Pennsylvania, Georgia and Oklahoma.
Growing during the late 1980s, the company began
manufacturing the SCOTTY Fire Safety House for U.S. fire
departments and increased production of custom-built
trailers and motorized vehicles. After a
fire destroyed the Pennsylvania factory in 1997, the
company changed to its current name and regrouped to focus
solely on their custom trailer division. Since then, the
company has expanded its product line, which now includes
the export division.
"We realize that to be successful in today's global
business environment you must have an intense focus on the
voice of your customer," explains Degre. "Whether a company
makes nut and bolts, consumable goods or products that save
people's lives, it has to be responsive to changes in market
demand and customer needs."
Their 50 plus years of custom manufacturing ranks them
among the top in their marketplace. With a 94 out of 100
satisfaction rate
(Open Ratings) from their customers, Mobile Concepts
continues to offer their clients expertise in building to
exact specifications.
For more information on their export division, please
