Forensic science is one of the fastest growing areas of law enforcement. Advances in scientific technology have helped law enforcement go high tech in solving crimes. Through the use of lasers, computers, and chemicals, evidence is being discovered that was never realized to exist.

Equipped with a state-of-the-art Mobile Crime Lab, investigators are now capable of responding to and conducting on-scene evidence collection. All equipment necessary for the professional evaluation and preliminary analyses of crime scenes can now be carried to a multitude of scenes. In addition to crime scenes, this mobile laboratory can also be used for forensic training to numerous police departments and is also capable of responding to assist other agencies in natural disasters.

InteriorSome of the standard equipment is:

  • Ample storage and work space
  • CAT 5 pre-wire for computer links, telephone, satellite
  • Commercial grade raised coined flooring
  • Fiberglass interior walls
  • Acoustic fabric-covered ceiling
  • Exterior lighting package
  • Heat and A/C
  • Gel-Coat Exterior Fiberglass

The Mobile Crime Lab can be completely self-contained.  This is especially useful when forensic specialists are processing major crime scenes, which often requires several days of analytical work.

In providing instant access to a range of forensic services at the scene of crimes, this mobile vehicle will deliver vital intelligence on suspects and witnesses far sooner than if evidence was required to be processed at a separate laboratory.

The combination of expertise in forensic science and rapid-response communications technology provided by the Mobile Crime Lab will give police access to a range of services.

We can install a variety of optional equipment so that you can perform the following tasks:

  • DNA analysis of samples from the crime scene - samples will be fed into the Mobile Lab, analyzed, and checked against The National DNA Database and police will have a match report back in approximately eight hours.
  •  Footwear and fingerprint intelligence - marks captured digitally (or by casts or lifted from the scene) can be analyzed in the mobile lab and satellite links allow interrogation of databases, with rapid results back to police at the scene.
  • Drug Chemistry to identify and determine if submitted evidence contains controlled substances, cannabis, and the identification of non-controlled substances.
  • Toxicology to identify drugs and levels of ethanol in blood, urine, or other body fluids.
  • Trace Analysis to identify and compare traces of evidence from crashes and non-drug related investigations.
  • Microscopy to obtain enlarged images of small objects, such as hairs, fibers, and fluorescent odometer impressions.
  • Latent Prints to locate, develop and compare prints left at crime scenes with those of potential suspects, as well as to establish ownership of contraband items.
  • Firearms to determine if specific bullets, cartridges, or firearms can be related to particular crimes.
