have two vehicles to choose from: The BAT Mobile and Community Policing Unit
(CPU).
BAT Mobile (Breath-Alcohol Testing)
The BAT Mobile is a trailer uniquely designed to be used by law
enforcement at roadside sobriety checkpoints. This trailer will decrease law
enforcements time spent on processing drunk drivers, increase the number of
drivers apprehended, and act as a visual deterrent for the community.
The objective of the BAT Mobile is when police pull over a suspect
driver; they have complete on-site testing and detention capabilities. The
police can perform a Breath-Alcohol Test, Blood-Alcohol Test, and book and
detain the individual right in the vehicle.
In addition, the BAT Mobile duals as an excellent educational opportunity
for drug and alcohol prevention programs for middle and high school
students.
The overall effort of the BAT Mobile will publicize the dangers of drunk
driving and assist other drunk driving programs.
 Community
Policing Unit (CPU)
The Community Policing Unit (CPU) is a state-of-the-art mobile classroom
that provides law enforcement personnel the means to bring the greatest
crime prevention and safety tool education directly to the community.
These versatile trailers can be used for child identification and
fingerprinting services, Crime Stopper and D.A.R.E. (Drug Prevention)
programs, classes on basic life saving and injury prevention techniques,
school safety, bicycle safety, car seat safety, pedestrian safety, Stranger
Danger, 9-1-1 training, home security and disaster recovery.
The Community Policing Unit is used at local schools, youth agencies,
community centers, senior citizens assisted living centers, churches,
neighborhood block parties, community celebrations, and other events. The
CPU is ideal for use at primary and secondary schools and for campus safety
programs at the college level.
