In 2022, Pirates Charities partnered with Allegheny Health Network (AHN) to create the Chill Mobile. This retrofitted Winnebago serves as a mobile mental health awareness unit that visits schools and communities across western PA. Since its debut, this program has provided thousands of students a safe space to learn about the importance of their mental health. During these meetings, students are taught evidence-based coping skills such as mindfulness, stress management, and emotional regulation. Since it has spent the past four years working to reduce the stigma surrounding the discussion of mental health, Pirates Charities decided it was time for their Chill Mobile to get some much-deserved TLC.

Our tasks included upgrading the generator to an Onan 12kW, replacing the awning, front air conditioning unit, & both skid wheels, adjusting and re-mounting the four projectors, installing a Cradlepoint WiFi router & antenna, cleaning, painting, and lubricating the entry steps, and re-wrapping the exterior graphics.
