Reducing exposure risks with the US Army’s new DECON 24-3L

For this week’s unit spotlight, we’ll be showcasing the DECON 24-3L trailer made for the US Army’s Military Ocean Terminal in Concord, CA. This unit is divided into three sections: two decontamination rooms and one maintenance room. In a case where they would come into contact with hazardous materials, there are a total of three decontamination lanes equipped with one roller system conveyor, three shower heads with removable, hand-held sprayers, yellow shower curtain partitioning, three roof vents, and sloped grid flooring. Meanwhile, the maintenance room contains one Onan LP 5500 generator, a hot water heater, one 50-amp electrical panel with surge protection, a 50-amp shoreline, three gravity-fed soap dispensers, two sump pumps, a one gallon compressor, and a one thousand gallon waste bladder.

- Two 40 lb. LP tanks located on the hitch with a high-capacity regulator
- Four exterior FRC surface-mount scene lights
- Six LED ceiling lights
- Two exterior GFI outlets
- One 30,000 BTU LP furnace
- Three roof vents
- Four entry/exit ramps with aluminum railing
- One spare 15″ aluminum wheel located on the rear wall
